UE Song Player

UE Song Player

UE Music is practically completely now. It includes music videos, a wide catalog of artists, your favorite radio stations including our very own inMix, charts, and exclusives like Music Monday. Remember the tracks section though? It was great, but displayed the wrong track info a lot of the times.

The rebuilt tracks section, now called Songs includes a real song library and has a fast and easy-to-use interface.

How Does It Work?

As you probably noticed, the player and listen page say “powered by Grooveshark.” The link leads to grooveshark.com, which allows you to listen to songs for free. Our songs section essentially does the same, but does not use Flash for the interface making it a lot faster. It also loads songs faster if you happen to share a song with someone. This is all done legally and through their API, so when you do a search you’re actually requesting data from Grooveshark. Don’t think that we’re completely relying on their service though, since we are storing all the song data, ids, artists, etc. in our database. This is how we provided the fix for wrong song information, by storing it first in our database when a search is performed, and then the data is called upon when the player or song listen page is loaded.

We are very happy to have worked hard to provide this more reliable service for you, and still recommend you to check our Grooveshark for making this possible. On Grooveshark itself you can create playlists so it’s more powerful, however UE Music provides you a faster and more sharable experience. You also see this integrated into other sections like the charts where you can easily listen to the top 10 or so songs.
