UE 3 Years

UE 3 Years

Unveiled Entertainment officially turns three years old today, back to when I made my Freewebs account in 2007. The site has really come a long way, obviously now custom coded with lots of complex things going on, and lots of content like music videos, songs, games, videos, and more.

So, let’s take a trip down memory lane and see how far UE has grown over the years, because 3 years in site years is too long to believe. I’ll also talk about my plans for the future of UE.

The Beginning: Sunnywebs

Sunnywhaa? Yea, Sunnywebs was the first name I gave the site when I joined Freewebs on March 17, 2007. I didn’t really begin adding content and pages until the summer when I remembered about the account, but after that I was pretty active. The site was mostly personal, with photos of my family, pics of supercars, and just tons of widgets like polls and stuff. This was the age of that sort of stuff, and being on site builder I didn’t really know any better.

As time progressed, I learned to position things around the site more better, which was the start of me actually starting to make things look good, and the concept of how sites worked. The real start of Sunnywebs was however when I started being active more around the Freewebs community as a whole, and found a group of really great sites from which I could learn from. We posted in each others guestbooks and chatted a lot.

The site was still very amateur at this point, but I did start making graphics now and banners on the site. I knew I wanted more visits though, and started advertising around the Freewebs community. Sure, many might have called it spam but it worked and I did comment on other people’s sites. This is probably when I first figured out that one main way I could get more visits, and get people together was with a chat. So, I added a Xat chatroom to the site, which did get more people to come and check out what I offered. Everyone were still spread out however, between sites. A very influential part of the community was ItsWicked where everyone usually were at, but it did include other big names like Unlimited (George), Deadloxx, 2Funny2Live (Dan), Unlimited (Sawyer), Madrick, Online Arcade, Beefy, Mission Graphix, BlackFire, Jacksite, Alien One, Trechix, Crash Course Entertainment (CCE), Crash, UnlimitedWebs, and a lot others that I just cannot remember right now.

As you can see a lot, and I mean a lot of people even ones I’ve forgotten have been a big influence in the site, and I can’t believe how many people I actually met online. We take these kind of things for granted, but I really am happy that with an invention like the Internet, we can communicate with people from around the world. Anyways to bring the age of Sunnywebs to a fast close, I finally began to have more videos and unique pages on the site, and to gain more reputation, I changed the site name to Unveiled.

Unveiled Goes Big

Unveiled was a pretty big success. The community finally transitioned more to Unveiled rather than other sites, and that’s how the nickname for myself, and even shorter version “Unv” came from. I still use it around a lot, and there’s no reason why. I really liked the name because it sounded very cool and modern, and is an actual dictionary word. A deeper meaning for it is the “revealing” of unique content, and helping unite people together.

There really isn’t a lot to say, obviously a lot happened such as contests, new sites emerging, and big events coming and going. These were probably the “good” times, where everything was really fun and it was really cool to be able to participate in contests and such across this community or network of sites. This however faded away and many sites shut down to go on in their lives, occassionaly visiting to see what’s happening.

I was sad to see them go, but the site still stood strong with many people still around, as well as new ones. This was also when I was learning a lot of coding like HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web languages and techniques. It was an age of me mostly experimenting with things, and seeing where the site should go. I started doing a lot more entertainment things like music and videos, although I also had a developer section to help out others build their sites.

The Now Of Unveiled Entertainment

So let’s forward a bit, I’ve finally become really skilled in web development, and not site builder stuff but actual coding. I then started using the word “entertainment” more, and really tried my best to be more pro with the sections like music, gaming, and an actual community section where you can sign up to participate by adding videos and all that.

Well, I guess that’s it. Over the course of 3 years, a lot has happened and it’s amazing how the site has emerged from what used to be a personal site with pictures of Lamborghinis and Ferraris. For the future, I plan to add more content and finish up all the pages as usual, but also I want to give a simple sentence explanation for the site. I’m still thinking on it, maybe it’s a mix of the best entertainment out there with music videos, games, movie reviews, and what not because the truth is; I can’t have every single song and blog about everything out there. There will be another redesign with the homepage and sections of the site, to accompany all the new content and have a sort of playlist of the top content you should check out, right on the site.

Oh and happy St. Patrick’s day! I don’t really celebrate or een know what it is, but I’ll educate myself later and you should too. Tomorrow is also my birthday, I know it’s odd but it won’t be anything special, just thought you should know. Hope you now know more about the site and its past after reading this article, and I’ll see you all later.
